Field Experience

Introduction

Mayfield City Schools extends the opportunity to provide Student Teaching Placements, Classroom Observations and Internships for Field Experiences in our classrooms. The following definitions and guidelines have been developed to make placement of pre-service teachers as effective as possible.

Classroom/Clinical Observations

The student teacher will be observing the learning environment, but will have minimal interaction with students. The Representative from the college may request placement using the form on the following link:https://forms.gle/tPF4Ym3emFxrvdM7A

Mayfield City Schools will notify the requestor if the placement can be filled.

Field Experience

This includes experiences where the student teacher will be interacting with students on a regular basis to fulfill the requirements of becoming a licensed educator. Field experience includes student teaching, micro-teaching, internship or practicum. Both BCI and FBI background checks and a copy of their driver’s license are required by the student teacher.

Mayfield City Schools will notify the requestor if the placement can be filled.

Upon approval, the student teacher will be responsible for submitting BCI and FBI fingerprint documentation and a copy of their driver’s license.

Once the fingerprint documentation and copy of driver’s license has been received, the requestor will be notified of the placement.
