  • Chromebook Repair Class at MHS

Here at Mayfield we've taken advantage of the learning opportunity for students to gain skills on electronic device repair. Located at Mayfield High School the Chromebook repair class handles all damaged Chromebooks for students in grades 5-12. Students located within the HS are to take thier damaged device to the Chromebook repair class during available times. Students in grades 5-8 are to take thier damaged device to thier building support person who will then send the Chromebook to Mayfield High School via interschool mail.

    Chromebook Repair Letter

Upon accidental damage to a Chromebook ( which is not covered by the included 3-year manufacturer's warranty and is after the 1st district funded repair ) the student's parents will be notified of repair costs via the Accidental Damage Claim - Incident Notification letter available below.

Students in the Mayfield High School Chromebook repair course will issue a letter after looking over the device and determing whether or not it is covered by the manufacturer's warranty. They will also check the Chromebook Information tab within Infinite Campus to verify the following information

  • Ownership of the Chromebook via the serial number
  • Number of repairs/incidents involving this Chromebook
  • Whether or not a loaner has already been issued

The student whose Chromebook is in for repair will then take the Additional Damage Claim - Incident Notification letter home for his or her parent/guardian to fill out. Once the letter has been filled out by the student's parent/guardian and returned to the Chromebook class, the fees will be entered into Infinite Campus. Once parents have paid the fees within Infinite Campus, repairs to the Chromebook will be made.
